About This Show

Tired of being told by casting directors she’s either “too ethnic” or “not ethnic enough,” singer-actress-dancer-poet Nora Armani has created her own one-woman show. On this night however, the unexpected appearance of a long-ago love causes Nora to veer from the planned script and embark instead on an intensely personal look into her own past and family heritage. Over the course of the evening, alternating between humor and nostalgia (and more than few poignant moments), she recounts her rather interesting family history – such as her grandparents being expelled from Armenia by the Turks; her growing up in Nasser’s post-revolution Egypt; learning the facts of life when dancing with a teenage boy (those are NOT keys in his pocket); and immigrating to America.
