New York City
When the war is over and the casualties few, people’s attentions naturally turn to matters of heart, home and loins. So begins Shakespeare’s curious comedy of eavesdropping, deception, and triumphant love: Much Ado About Nothing, directed by Jerry Marco. Thrill to the adventures of two couples: one eager, but nearly torn apart by a vicious ruse; and one reluctant, but brought together by benevolent trickery. And when the all-female police force is more Keystone than Rosie-the-Riveter, and the town crier is a half-drunk guitarrist behind a party mask, vicious ruses and benevolent trickeries are the just the beginning of the sexy mischiefs about which there is Much Ado.
