New York City
An ensemble of young people ages 13-18 from throughout the metropolitan area worked for four weeks to create and perform this original adaptation of Shakespeare’s “comedy” Measure for Measure. A particularly dark comedy, the play raises critical moral issues in a story based around secret identities and manipulation. The ensemble of young actors have worked with a dramaturg to find and incorporate their own perspectives on morality, deception, justice and power into this classic play, illuminating the relevance of Shakespeare’s words in today’s world.
Performances begin: May 10, 2024
