Mabou Mines: Las Horas de belen-a book of hours

P.S. 122 will hosts the return of New York’s premiere experimental theatre company Mabou Mimes’ LAS HORAS DE BELEN–A BOOK OF HOURS. This production is a bi-lingual, bi-national, bi-cultural and as described by the creators, a “bi-aesthetic” musical theater work. It blends poetry, song, dance, mime and projections to explore the experience of women imprisoned in the Recogimiento de belen, a Mexican Roman Catholic “sanctuary” created in 1683 that provided single, indigent women refuge.
