About this show

Um...let's make a play? Yes! About what? About Waiting for Godot. Except not about Waiting for Godot. Okay! How should we make it? Ooooh, I know, I know! Oh wait...I don't know. Well if it's about that play but also not about that play, then what is it about? Memory. Friends. Leaving, coming, going. Our brains. Cells. Cell phones. Stories. Strokes. Alzheimer's. Vaudeville. Barbra Streisand and Judy Garland. Happy days. Remembering. Forgetting. Samuel Beckett. Waiting. Waiting, what are you waiting for? What are you waiting for? Everything. To make a play. To perform the play. For you to come see it. Let's Go is an ensemble-created collage play exploring and responding to the themes, language, characters, and history of Samuel Beckett's defining masterpiece Waiting for Godot. As we struggle for patience in a rapidly-paced yet anxious contemporary era -- what are we waiting for and why? What is the shared consciousness we know as reality, and what happens when our brains no longer adhere to it? As we investigate these questions - and invite audience members to be voyeurs into the exhilarating and odd process of creating a new theatre piece - we scream, we dance, we embrace Vaudeville, we stand to the right side of our left brains, we call our mothers...and we wait.
