La Bestia: Sweet Mother

La Bestia: Sweet Mother is written and directed by Tom Block. The play is a multi-media theatrical reconsideration of humanity’s earliest creation myths. Although the audience may believe they are in small black-box theater in the East Village, in point of fact they will have arrived on the once-a-year feast day, when our first ancestors gathered to give thanks, and try and understand how and why this earth began. The underpinning imagery in the work comes directly from these earliest myths — Babylonia, Sumerian, Greek, Hebrew, Zoroastrian and others.
