About This Show

Theater for the New City presents JOANNA, a “Century-Spanning Lower East Side Lesbian Love Fable” by award-winning playwright Barbara Kahn. This unique production takes the audience on a magical journey filled with turn of the (last) century Jewish New Yorkers, a wanna-be silent movie star, a Midwestern depression-era hobo, two 1960’s street mimes and a present-day gentrifying real estate developer from Queens.
