About This Show

Jazz Hand tells the story of Mary Theresa Archbold, who was born without the lower half of her left arm. It’s a joyful sketch comedy revue about the trials and quirks of life when you’re missing a limb. It’s a show about the way God made us and in some cases…didn’t.

Told in a semi- autobiographical format we see a series of life and career events that have occurred to Mary, a congenital amputee. What would happen if in the middle of an audition your hand falls off, or you are a woman afraid of having a child because you can not play patty cake, or you are not disabled enough to compete in the Paralympics, or if in Show and Tell you demonstrate how your prosthesis makes the most realistic fart sounds? These and other questions are answered in this funny and touching revue.

Jazz Hand is presented as part of the 2007 New York International Fringe Festival.
