Insomnia: A New Musical
WorkShop Theater Company - Main Stage Theater, Off-Off-Broadway
$18
At the age of 38, Brad has had tremendous success writing for a hugely popular, young adult TV show. He has old friends who support him, a man who loves him and a distant father who wants to reconnect. By all accounts, Brad’s life is great and yet, he can’t help but feel that something is missing. Whatever it is, it’s been keeping him up. As Brad tries to write and sell a new, semi-autobiographical TV pilot (one without any vampires, superheroes, ghosts or guns), he journeys through a sleepless night to look inward, examine his relationships and to ask himself important questions, like: what does it mean to be fulfilled? How do you balance the pursuit of money with the creation of art…and can a nightcap still be called a nightcap if it’s 5 AM? Brad won’t rest (literally) until he finds all his answers.
