New York City
A young man appears: orange shirt, dark blazer, Chicago Blackhawks jersey round his waist, wraparound shades on his face. He struts around in a heightened rock star bear steop, pausing every other beat for a stadium snapshot. When the music falls silent, he sits down in place, and there begins a non-stop monologue that seems alternately a tired male rant, a brilliant piece of sustained satire, and a dramatic examination of a profoundly troubled soul. I Took Your Name is part of the Midtown International Theatre Festival.
