Hunger in a Land of Plenty is a multi-media piece created and performed by an ensemble company of teenagers, and directed by Maureen Heffernan and Darrell Wilson. The performance explores how our bodies are often starved for nutrition in a world of food surplus; how our minds thirst for knowledge and wisdom in an age of unprecedented access to information; and how our spirits wither from lack of meaning in study, work, and living. The show is performed by the John Bettenbender Performance Company, the only student group from the U.S. in the New York International Fringe Festival.
