Dixon Place proves that gay pride doesn’t end in June, as it presents Hot! The NYC Celebration of Queer Culture.
Highlights include:
July 1: John Fleck
Mr. Pussy Delicious dives into the rabbit hole and confronts his arch-nemesis, Ms. Doggie Ruff, in a fight to the finish.
July 9: Rick & Andy with The Church Ladies for Choice
Rick Libert and Andy Buck play songs that are as queer as folk music — a mixture of original, traditional, folk, and gospel. Also on the bill are The Church Ladies in their flower-print frocks, sensible shoes, and earings that pinch (that’s what keeps them so angry).
July 10: Lisa Kron
This Lesbian Brother goes solo once again with Well, exploring issues of illness and health.
July 14: Marga Gomez & Carmelita Tropicana
This pair of queer performers bring you sizzling new solo and collaborative works.
July 23-24: Holly Hughes
The internationally acclaimed performance art legend hosts a benefit for Dixon Place and its emerging artists.
July 28: Randy Gener & Stephen Nisbet
An adaptation of Andrew Holleran’s “In September, the Light Changes.”
July 30: Regie Cabico & Aileen Cho
In Eyes Slammed Shut, Cabico & Cho take their long-term relationshp to extreme levels in their latest take on Sex in the City according to non-white, non-rich queer Asian comedians.
