About This Show

Hoaxocaust! written and performed by Barry Levey with the generous assistance of The Institute for Political and International Studies, Tehran.

Hoaxocaust! is a shocking, irreverent examination of how “victims” are defined, how “truth” gets disseminated, and why, for all of us, politics are so stubbornly personal.

Please join us as noted monologist Barry Levey asks daring questions about ethnic identity, anti-Semitism and the reinterpretation of history. Is there such a thing as a contemporary Jewish identity independent of “The Holocaust”? Should there be? What if the Holocaust had never happened?

In search of answers, Barry relates his recent interviews with Holocaust deniers from Illinois to Iran. He learns that Hitler’s speeches were just badly translated; that gas chambers were an engineering impossibility; and that most of the alleged victims are alive and well and living in Brooklyn.
