About This Show

What happened to Dr. King’s dream of an America of social and economic equality? What has happened to dreams in general? Do young people today think of Dr. King’s dream? How does Dr. King’s legacy touch young people? Do they have dreams of a better world? Or have the failures and disappointments of the last forty years driven the dreaming out of them?

Framed as a series of personal letters to Dr. King, Have You Ever Seen a Dream Rapping? conceived by Fred Newman, is a performatory correspondence between today’s dreamers and the Great Dreamer of the 1960s. It will include spoken word, song and dance performed by Dr. Lenora Fulani, founder of the All Stars Project, Pam Lewis, Director of Youth Programs, and young people from the All Stars Project.

Appropriate for all ages.
