Ethan Goodman, fledgling editor of Repair (“The Journal for Urban Healing”), is an over-weaning, overly-responsible older brother, compelled to unravel the truth about any number of myths he grew up with on the South Side of Chicago. In the process, he wreaks a little havoc in our post-Crown Heights Manhattan, hurting those he loves the most.
