About This Show

David McLaughlin’s modern Irish-American drama God Willing will make its New York City premiere at the Pantheon Theater. The story unfolds during one of the richest and most trying experiences a family can face – the death of a loved one. Set over two days during the wake and funeral of Gerald Lawler, patriarch to the Boston-based Lawler family, the play examines the family in its most precarious moments. Tension and conflict are revealed between a terminally unemployed dreamer son, his hysterical guilt-doting mother and his upwardly mobile career-oriented sister.
