About the Show

A new play by Barbara Bregstein set in Italy in 1600, Galileo: Father, Dearest tells the story of the life and times of Galileo, the great scientist, his relationships with his mistress and daughters, and his confrontation with the Church. The historical drama spans 33 years, from Galileo’s beginnings as a University professor, to his defense of the Copernican system and trial before the Holy Inquision in 1633.

Under the direction of Forum Theatre’s Barbara Bregstein, the play features its seven member ensemble acting company, who helped develop the original script.
