About the Show

Inspired by Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot, Kesav Wable’s new play borrows Beckett’s existential wasteland and transports two unwitting rappers, Dee and Kane, to a long-forgotten street corner in the Bronx where they wait for a record producer. Their stationary journey examines the philosophical genesis of rapping as an art form and hip-hop as a cultural movement.
