Faith Hope & Charity

About the Show

A contemporary magic-realism take on an ancient myth of religions in Alberto Pedro’s Faith Hope & Charity, presented in an English version by Caridad Svich. Three women of different races escape Cuba and find themselves adrift in the Sargasso Sea without compass or bearings. They pray to the Virgin of Charity, the Catholic Patron Saint of Cuba, hoping for a miracle. The virgin appears in her Afro-Cuban identity, Oshun, the Santeria Goddess of Love and Joy in the religion. Will Oshun be able to perform a miracle? Will the women be saved?
