Every Day Above Ground is inspired by Booker Prize-winner Michael Ondaatje’s adaptation of the Collected Works of Billy the Kid. The show peels back the layers of madness surrounding Billy to seek the revelatory shafts of lucidity in his own mind after death. Matching their stagecraft of rich visual storytelling, live music and innovative sound design with Michael Ondaatje’s multi-faceted persona poem, Every Day Above Ground explores memory, madness, violence and survival in a visionary story that is intimate in its carefully realized details and vast in its contemporary resonance.
