Even the Jungle (Slight Return), by Ian W. Hill and David Mcintyre, opens Nada Classic’s Pure Pop Festival. The show is a darkly pop fusion of Coppola’s Apocalypse Now and Kipling’s The Jungle Book. The subject of the play is gender, race, colonialism of body and mind as well as order, chaos, heroes, loss of innocence, and the white male artist’s relation to the Jungle, as metaphor and reality.
