About the Show

Emerging Artists Theatre presents its Fall 2005 EATFest, the company’s semi-annual showcase of new works by emerging playwrights.

Series A – Tuesdays and Fridays at 7:00 p.m. and Saturdays at 5:00 p.m.
In “WALLY AND JESUS” by CHRISTOPHER HEATH, directed by DYLAN McCULLOUGH, a young man accuses Jesus of shooting his mother. Joanna makes a life-altering confession to her lover on their way to meet her parents in “LAUGHING ALL THE WAY,” written by CAROL MULLEN, directed by DEB GUSTON. In “CLOUDY” by MICHAEL GRIFFO, directed by DEREK JAMISON, a woman attempts to fit a piece into the puzzle of her life. An unidentified man sitting in a beach chair reading a newspaper on a busy downtown street prompts a TV news crew to pull out all the stops to get “ALL THE DETAILS”, by CARY PEPPER, directed by TROY MILLER.

Series B – Wednesdays and Sundays at 7:00 p.m. and Fridays at 9:00 p.m.
In “REUNION” by WILLIAM BORDEN, directed by PAUL ADAMS, two former high school classmates, now elderly, come to terms with each other in a unique and touching moment. In “FINAL ANSWER” by MARC CASTLE, directed by KEVIN DODD, a not-so-successful actress somehow finds herself as a contestant on an absurdist, nightmarish game show where she finds out that the odds are not in her favor. In “CUPID’S BEAU” by BARBARA LINDSAY, directed by IAN STREICHER, a mild flirtation in a coffee house quickly develops into a deeper attraction, complicated by circumstances both revealed and hidden. In “A TOUCHING STORY” by RICH ORLOFF, directed by JEFFREY LAWHORN, touchy issues arise when a swinging couple invites a man to their hotel room for a sexual adventure.

Series C – Thursdays and Saturdays at 7:00 p.m. and Sundays at 5:00 p.m.
When paying a visit to his lonely mother on Christmas, a son finds himself wondering how distant they have become, “HOW CAN LOVE SURVIVE” by KEVIN BROFSKY, directed by S. CADEN HETHORN. “LEAN LOVE CITY” by DAN BLASK, directed by ERIC CHASE, finds two lovelorn men converging in a friend’s apartment and pleading their case to him and to the universe. “PARK BENCH” by KRISTYN LEIGH ROBINSON, directed by MAHAYANA LANDOWNE, examines the difference in perspectives between different generations A moment in the afterlife gets an interesting twist in “LARRY GETS THE CALL” by MATT CASARINO, directed by MELISSA ATTEBERRY.
