Linda Rentschler’s play, Deathbed, is presented at the Manhattan Theatre Source as part of its Development Series, a program committed to showcasing new theatrical talent. The play takes place on Superbowl Sunday when the Rosaro sons, Tony and Joey, move their card game into the hospital waiting room, certain their mother isn’t dying-just vicious. A comedy about an Italian family, Deathbed explores the emotional, often turbulent relationships of grown siblings, against a backdrop of food, gambling, and the ever-impending death of their mother.
