Random Arts, Inc presents the English language premiere of Conversation Exercises #1-5. This work was recently adapted from the French by Andy Bragen and is directed by Daniel Kleinfeld. A mad pedagogue, Phillipe, torments his students in a blunderbluss of a satire against schools, language, sex and post-structuralism. Adapted from a collection of language lessons written by Eugene Ionesco.
This short playlet is part of the 3-month long, citywide Ionesco Festival, dedicated to the French Aburdist, Eugene Ionesco. Random Arts Inc, a 2001 OOBR Award winning company, presents two of these short plays: The Niece Wife and Conversation Exercises #1-5. These playlets are part of 12 rotating ?Shorts? which serve as a unifying and unique characteristic of the Festival, in that every full length is matched with a different Short. The $15 ticket is for the Full-Length. The Shorts are an added BONUS! All playlets rotate times and venues.
