About This Show

The Empire Theatre Company will present five short works about love and the pursuit of happiness titled, Common Things About 16 Dicks From Philadelphia. The name of this evening of five works by four playwrights about 13 lost souls in search of two things, is comprised of one word from the title of each play.
The Philadelphia by David Ives – the story follows two friends and a waitress who keep getting stuck in “alternate realities” in a diner.
The Dicks by Jules Feiler – about a veteran hotel detective, his young rookie counterpart and their extremely different takes on how to do their jobs.
16E by Alexander Dawson – about toll booth attendants preparing for their shift on the New Jersey Turnpike.
Sure Thing by David Ives – about two young strangers who meet in a café, become acquainted and fall in love…in 11 minutes.
Common Ground by Richard Harlan Smith – about a homicide detective who enlists the help of a female psychic as he attempts to solve a murder.
