About the Show

Playwright and comedian Katie Northlich portrays all eight characters in Character Forum: A Thesis, her solo show presented off-off-Broadway at the Fashion PlayFest in September and Sola Voce: Estrogenius in October. This comedy is written, performed and produced by Katie Northlich and directed by Michael D. Jackson.

Katie Northlich plays nine characters in this dark comedy that follows the journey of a graduate student who asks: WHAT ARE PEOPLE ACTUALLY THINKING BEHIND THAT GLAZED SMILE… and are they right?

Katie hails from California. She trained in dance for ten years and voice/theatre for five. After touring Europe and California with a Commedia D’elle Arte troupe for two consecutive summers, Katie made the leap to New York. Her New York comedy credits include original cabaret acts at Dillon’s, Don’t Tell Mama’s, and Danny’s Skylight Room; stand-up at Stand Up NY, New York Comedy Club, Caroline’s on Broadway; improv/sketch training at Chicago City Limits, The PIT, UCB, Armando Diaz Productions and Second City NY’s showcase in the fall of 2002. She’s consistently performed in NY’s off-off Broadway theatre scene. Katie holds a BA in Drama from the University of California, Irvine.
