Carry the Tiger to the Mountain

Pan Asian Repertory Theatre and the 1st National Asian American Theatre Festival present a special presentation of Carry the Tiger to the Mountain, by Cherylene Lee, directed by Ron Nakahara.

In 1982, Vincent Chin was beaten to death outside a Detroit bar by two unemployed auto workers. The men were fined $3780. An American Story — a quest for justice.

2007 marks the 25th year since the Vincent Chin bias-killing, which was a defining and tragic moment in American history. The case continues to inform the Asian American community’s efforts to educate people about civil rights to this day.

Pan Asian Rep produced Carry the Tiger to the Mountain in 1998. The company welcomes a cast of veteran artists, including Wai Ching Ho, Jackson Loo and Tom Matsusaka, who will be joined by members of the next generation of Asian American artists for this special showcase presentation.
