About the Show

The late Charles Ludlam’s inspired raucous romp though the life of the tragic Marguerite Gautier, heroine of the Dumas novel “La Dame Aux Camelias”, Verdi’s “La Traviata”, and Garbo’s “Camille” of 1936.

Ludlam and his partner Everett Quinton, along with founder John Vaccaro made their ‘Ridiculous Theatre,” originally born out of productions at Andy Warhol’s famous ‘Factory” a seventies classic – where downtown theatre made irreverent sport of every classic they could dream up.

Steve Hayes, incomparable comic artist of stage and cabaret brings the new ‘Marguerite’ to life –

She lives, she prospers, she pines for love, she finds love, she disdains love – she dies??

“I laughed, I cried…”

You will too.
