Two original performance pieces by two innovative young Korean American actresses come to the NuYorican Poet’s Cafe. Bruce Lee: Inside the Lost Interview is created and performed by Soomi Kim with Dep Kirland. Through the format of the Pierre Berton interview, recorded 1971 in Hong Kong, Kim embodies Bruce Lee’s spirit. She walks in the shoes and exposes a side of a man who faced major rejection and discrimination in his path to becoming the most incomparable martial arts icon in entertainment history.

My Mom Across America is written and performed by Tina Lee, and directed by David Lane. Trapped on an all American bus tour across Canada and the U.S., Lee ponders her identity as a Korean-American, her relationship with her mother, and other hilarious baggage. Watch Tina accrue massive karma points as she steers through the prickly terrain of mother/daughter relationships and struggles to sruvive her family vacation from hell.
