Blue Box Productions presents Big Sticky, an annual culmination of the 10-minute bar play project Sticky, seen at Belly and Mamma’s bars. Big Sticky, an event first seen at The Flea Theater in 2004, is Blue Box’s first association with D Lounge, Union Square’s newest cabaret.
Thirteen plays will run in rep, with seven plays each night. Brief stories about night club robberies, awkward 30th birthday parties, two men who both believe they are Socrates, South Asian punk rock cutters in love, an electro-clash has-been and his new girlfriend, white trash lesbian awakening, failed private eyes, George and Osama in a bar in a cave, the set designer of the apocalypse, a delivery man in love with a recluse, and a gay politician recruiting a beard. Musical performances will be interspersed as well, with Le Cabaret Melange, a drag cabaret act; The Sprinkle Genies, a modern rock group; and Heather Christian, a singer/somgwriter.
Each night of the show is a different line up of plays and musicians.
