About This Show

G. L. Zevin’s new play, Berlin, follows Else Volker, the second-most famous star of Nazi cinema, as she seeks redemption in the bombed-out dreamscape of postwar Berlin. Having spent the glory days of the Third Reich on the silver screen, Else has not come to terms with the events of World War II ? especially those that don?t relate to her fading career and troubled marriage ? until she meets an American GI fifteen years her junior. Together, they journey through the ruined German landscape, finding the strength to acknowledge the hardest truths: about the War, and themselves.
