Atlanta’s Daughters

As part of the Manhattan TheatreSource Playground Developmental Series, Apple Girl Productions presents this evening of exploration into the different worlds of two people who were brought up in the same place but who have turned out very differently. Atlanta’s Daughters is the combination of two solo performances. First, Maggie Lauren’s one-woman show, Conyers, GA: The Untold Story, examines race, religion, the Olympics… and syphillis — all just part of the life of an adolescent southern girl looking for answers in a hicktown gone global. Following that, Amir Levi presents Male Matriarch, the coming of age story about a male who discovers that he is destined to be the next matriarch of his family. It’s about love, fate, destiny and most importantly, motherhood.
