Act Naturally

Act Naturally is an original play that tells the story of an actor’s quest for a seemingly unattainable Equity card. In a moment of desperation, he agrees to be the understudy in a solo tribute to Ringo Starr, with the understanding that he will get his card but will never be required to actually perform. Accordingly, he doesn’t bother to read the script, see the show or try on his costume. Not surprisingly, he is called and although grossly unprepared, he is not willing to sacrifice the equity card that is finally within his grasp. So he does what any self-respecting actor would do: He wings it.
