Acedia

In the alternate world of Acedia public humiliation, cyberbullying and “troll”-ery has become so ubiquitous that governments worldwide have criminalized any act of malicious humiliation; creating an American society the is more afraid of public embarrassment than personal harm. In this world, six unique characters have been charged with criminal humiliation and must spend a night of incarceration together where their crimes are revealed and they are forced to be responsible and judged for their actions. Video, Music, Dance and Theater are mixed together to create a live performance that explores group apathy as an individual and in society. Acedia is the result of a collaborative instigation to explore and devise a new play about Group Apathy.
