New York City
A Night at The Jonesonian
$8
The Jonesonian Institution is ‘the Greatest Museum in the World’. It’s also entirely invented.
‘A Night at The Jonesonian’ is an illustrated lecture that touches on string theory, the Golden Age of Radio, dodos, forcible haircuts, Arthur Miller, a séance, the Oval Office, and more.
It’s also a heartfelt defense of marginalia, of the things that we forget with ease but which hold deep, sustaining value.
Items of audio ‘archive’–wax cylinder recordings, dusty reels of audio tape, and more–have been created in collaboration with some of New York’s finest improvisers, from The PIT, the UCB, and from Chicago’s Second City.
