About This Show

The Wings Theatre presents a new musical adaptaion of Frances Hodgson Burnett’s book A Little Princess. Director/librettist Robert Sickinger and composer/lyricist Mel Atkey have moved the novel’s action from Victorian England to Civil War-era America.

Colonel Crewe, a successful businessman, leaves for the war, placing his daughter Sara in the care of a school for young ladies. Word is received that Crewe has been killed in action, and Sara, despite being demoted to a scullery maid and forced to live in the attic, never gives up hope that he may just be alive, somehow.
