A Family of Women
$15.00
It’s Mum’s birthday tea and all four daughters are in attendance; over endless cups of tea, the five women bicker and fuss, each lost in the daily grind of post-war Britain. However, nothing is as it seems in this harrowing family drama.
Mum is confused, Vivian is on the up, Doreen is on the change, Vi has a secret and Sylvie is lost in the nightmare of survival. Conversations twist and turn as old wounds, old hurts come to the forefront. Emotions run high as the family ties fray and then finally snap. Amid all the heartbreaking emotional carnage, among the shocking revelations, the daughters try to come to terms with the fact that nothing about their lives will be the same again.
Written and directed by Manchester (England) playwright, Karlton Parris whose previous works have appeared in Manchester, Liverpool, London and the Edinburgh Fringe; this production marks his international debut.
