About This Show

T.M.L. International Theatre Productions presents A Day After the Day, a multi-media production based on Georg Büchner’s Woyzeck. A Day After the Day, adapted and directed by renowned Korean director Juyoung Hong, examines the inner life of Georg Büchner’s famed character on the day after he brutally kills his wife.

Büchner, commonly known as the father of German Expressionism, left only an unfinished manuscript of Woyzeck when he died at the age of twenty-three, but the play has exerted an extraordinary influence on modern theatre. The Day After the Day, zeroes in on one question only from the complex manuscript: What happens to Woyzeck’s psyche the day after he kills his wife?

A Day After the Day is a dramatic collage of visual and aural impressions and live performance that explore the nature of life through the poetic juxtaposition of everyday images. The production includes artists from Korea, Argentina, England, Iran and the U.S.; their different backgrounds and cultural perspectives bring both tension and energy to the production, intersecting to create a dynamic and nuanced performance experience.
