Alex Brightman, Ben Crawford, Jay Armstrong Johnson, Lindsay Mendez, and Betsy Wolfe will star in the New York premiere of Ryan Scott Oliver’s 35mm A Musical Exhibition at Brooklyn’s Galapagos Arts Space, March 7 and 12 at 8pm. Jeremy Bloom will direct.
The work is based on the photography of Matthew Murphy and weaves together original songs with projections of Murphy’s photography to tell a collection of “snapshot stories.”
The production will feature projection design by Aaron Rhyne, costume design by David Withrow, music direction by Michael Borth, and a band that includes Matt Hinkley on acoustic/electric guitars, Allison Seidner on electric cello, Rich Silverstein on keyboard, Hiroko “Coco” Taguchi on electric violin/viola, and Jeremy Yaddaw on drums/percussion.
