About This Show

In his new show, 1001 Beds, pioneering gay performance artist Tim Miller gathers the audience around his hotel room bed nightly during his “two-week stay” at Performance Space 122.

Based on his brand-new book by the same name, 1001 Beds is Miller’s latest between-the-sheets performance — and this time he’s tucked in on stage. From there, he takes audiences on a raucous, rowdy, kinky and funny journey though many of the many beds he’s been in (and will be) — from a sleazy hotel across the street from the Hollywood Bowl to a surprisingly comfortable mattress in a police holding cell.

For twenty five years, Tim Miller has used his personal experiences to create entertaining and pointed explorations of life as a gay American man — from the perils and joys of sex and relationships to the struggles of political disenfranchisement and artistic censorship.
In 1001 Beds, Miller uses his inquisitive ardor and wicked, subversive sense of humor to create an unforgettable and intimate autobiographical collage.
