New York City
The Director follows the path of a once-famous Grotowski-styled theater director, now working as a janitor. A young, impressionable playwright coaxes him to direct her play and in return he casts a Svengali-like spell over her and the cast of young actors willing to embrace his unusual and experimental style. The play explores what happens when the bond of trust between actor and director is abused.
