The Classical Theater of Harlem’s (CTH) highly acclaimed production of Jean Genet’s avant-garde classic The Blacks: A Clown Show transfers downtown.
The play is a poetic, absurd, and entertaining ritual of power, manipulation and identity that tells the story of a troupe of black actors who reenact the ritualistic rape and murder of a white woman before a court of black actors elaborately masked as caricatures of the English upper class.
