About This Show

A Halloween tale of Magic & Seduction

Janet has been warned many times not to go to the Forest of Carterhaugh, because the ghostly Tam Lin dwells there.

But when Janet runs away from home to avoid an arranged marriage, she finds herself in Carterhaugh, where she meets and falls in love with Tam Lin. She learns that the Queen of the Faeries used magic to make Tam Lin her love slave. Janet is determined to rescue Tam Lin, but there is an invisible curtain that divides the everyday world from the world of enchantment – and only on Halloween is the curtain drawn aside.

But as Halloween approaches, Janet can’t return to Carterhaugh because her clan is at war and their castle is under siege. Meanwhile, Janet’s lady-in-waiting Margaret has been dallying with Janet’s fiancée Lord Aberdeen. When Margaret and Janet both come down with morning sickness (or is it the haggis?) all their fates hang in the balance – Janet must steal Tam Lin away from the powerful & vengeful Queen of the Faeries.
