Pratfalls, pranks and pies in the face. Sultry vamps, little tramps and a conundrum of Keystone Cops. This spring, 1917 silent movie mayhem comes to life on stage Off-Broadway with Silent Laughter, a silent slapstick comedy with music. A family entertainment written by Billy Van Zandt and Jane Milmore and directed by Van Zandt, the show features a cast of thousands (played by 10 very versatile actors) and a live movie-house organ accompanying their slapstick shenanigans.
