Frederick Timm’s new play, Sacrifice to Eros refashions the return of the prodigal son parable. Set on a failing farm at the height of the Great Depression, the story follows the Westfield family as they make their journey from ignorance to the promise of understanding to the acceptance of forbidden love. Gay themes and a multiracial cast heighten the emotional issues of prejudice and oppression among family and society.
Marc Parees directs for Common Ground Productions.
Beginning October 13, the performance schedule adds Saturdays at 2pm and Sundays at 3pm.
