Paul Taylor Dance Company

After 2005’s triumphant 50th Anniversary celebration and record-shattering season in New York City, the Paul Taylor Dance Company returns to City Center. The 2006 season features 18 dances, including 16 masterworks dating from 1965 to the present, and displaying the extraordinary depth of Paul Taylor’s repertoire, from its stunning athleticism and sparkling humor to its all encompassing emotional range. Considered the master of dark and light and everything in between, Mr. Taylor also presents the premieres of two startlingly contrasted works, both created in 2005: Spring Rounds, a celebration of youthful romance set to music by Richard Strauss, and Banquet of Vultures, a chilling meditation on war and death set to a score by American composer Morton Feldman.
