A story of displacement and return interwoven into the third chapter of Darangen, an epic song cycle from Mindanao, Philippines, shared by the Maranao, Maguindanao and Iranun tribes. Pagbabalik is a visually stunning work that examines the past and its continued relevance in today’s society, using dance, live music and chants to discover how identity is broken and fractured by greed and corrupting power and the final reclaiming of the strength of renewal.
