No Greater Love

The composer’s own libretto combines writing as disparate as Kipling, Owen, Blake, Martin Luther King, orthodox hymnody and scripture in its exploration of compassion and mercy. This 90-minute, deeply moving oratorio will have only received two performances prior to Schola’s East Coast premiere. This project represents Schola’s most intense engagement effort to date, involving The Dominos, a 30-voice treble choir, of St. Dominic Academy, Jersey City, directed by Joseph Napoli; and VOX, a 40-voice male choir, of St. Peter’s Preparatory School, Jersey City, directed by Gianpaolo Eleria.

The composer will be present for both performances, and on site with all singers in the week prior to the productions. This will be the work’s first performance with a paraprofessional organization, and the first to bring it to young people!
