MCC Theater presents Last Easter by Bryony Lavery, directed by Doug Hughes. June is dying. Her best friends, Heather, Joy, and Gash, embark on a whirlwind journey to find a cure, whisking her from her home in London all the way from Texas to Lourdes, where she is thoroughly dunked in the holy water. Along the way they laugh and sing and drink a lot of wine. They're all theatre folk, so their lunatic pilgrimage is filled with magical lighting and musical effects including drag acts and a ghostly stagehand who appears magically like a dream. This very funny and ultimately touching play tells us what a close family friends can be.
