About the Show
Set in a circus and featuring a score by Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart, Jumbo was originally directed by George Abbott in 1935. Musicals in Mufti, York Theatre Company’s series of under-appreciated musicals presented in staged concert readings, presents the show as part of its 2002 series saluting George Abbott.
